The Project Director for Promoting Interoperability (PI) at Cone Health (CH) has responsibility for oversight, coordination, and execution of all PI programs and initiatives legislated by federal or state offices such as ONC (Office of National Coordinator) and CMS. The PI Director provides direction to CH facilities and providers on how to meet regulatory objectives and works with CH leadership to monitor adoption and audits for compliance. PI Director monitors national and local regulatory PI changes and interprets impact for the organization. PI Director is responsible for successful planning and execution on organizational policy & procedures and the necessary program changes needed to meet changing regulatory requirements. This includes the coordination, monitoring, and status reporting of all clinical and technological components related to the demonstration of compliance with ONC/CMS and state regulations for PI and Health Information Technology (HIT) programs across the health system.
The role oversees the functional areas responsible for (1) the interpretation and definition of the PI regulatory requirements, (2) the creation of a comprehensive project schedule with resource allocation, (3) the comprehensive program for PI compliance, (4) the support and coordination all PI working groups, (5) the coordination of communication and project status across all the application teams, site project leaders and governance groups in order to facilitate the implementation and full adoption of PI regulatory compliance with HIT changes across the health system. In this role, the PI Director demonstrates leadership, collaboration, critical thinking, and teamwork in addressing decisions and resolving issues.EDUCATION:
MS / MBA or equivalent combination of relevant business and/or clinical education is required.
Information Technology education is highly preferred.EXPERIENCE:
Health informatics experience and 3+ years of progressive leadership with management experience in clinical implementations, health analytics, healthcare quality, project management, or other related area is required.
Program research and documentation of requirements, program development, timelines, tools, clinical and administrative standard operating procedures deployment and the ongoing management of the Medicaid and Medicare Promoting Interoperability Programs.
Understands data, performance, organizational coordination and leadership in education and communication to realize the benefits from the development and implementation of clinical systems and participation in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Understands the requirements and the collection of clinical data (EHR and other clinical applications), the aggregation and reporting of that data to improve quality, the management of performance to improve quality, gaining/maintaining accreditation, and meeting PI to qualify for incentive payment programs, such as the CMS Medicare and Medicaid Promoting Interoperability Program.
