JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Lean Improvement will play a critical role in shaping Cone Health's system-wide Lean Transformation by leading process improvement activities across the value stream to achieve greater efficiencies, reduce waste, and better service delivery across the organization. In this high-profile position, reporting to the Executive Director of Lean Transformation will be part of a select team of highly skilled and motivated individuals who own the continuous improvement approach and is responsible for ensuring the transformation's success.
The Direct of Lean Improvement is responsible for the day-to-day management of Lean practitioners within the Lean Transformation Office to include personnel management, project execution, and project delivery. He/she contribution will help the transformation of Cone Health's Lean culture by:
--Aligns departmental resources to support performance improvement across the health system in collaboration with the Executive Director of Lean Transformation and other internal and external stakeholders.
--Serves as a coach and leader for Lean Transformation coaches assigned to acute, ambulatory, and system-wide operational divisions within the health system.
--Analyzes, tracks, and reports value impact outcomes associated with continuous improvement initiatives completed and sustained within the health system.
--Promotes using Lean Management System principles and practices for all strategic and continuous improvement implementations that enable the health system to achieve True North performance in access, patient value, people, and culture priorities for the health system.
--Partners with the Executive Director of Lean Transformation to develop implementation strategies for overall Lean Transformation for the health system.
EDUCATION:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management and Operations Research
Preferred:
Master's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration
EXPERIENCE: Required:
3-5 years of supervisory/management experience
5 or more years of continuous improvement expertise
5 or more years Value Stream Improvement experience
5-7 years of progressive project management experience in a corporate setting
Preferred:
3-5 years experience leading a continuous improvement department preferred
At least two years of experience applying Lean principles within a healthcare system
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
Certification in Lean
Preferred:
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Healthcare Professional Quality (CHPQ), Project Management certification (PMP)
