Exempt: Yes | FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week) | Schedule: Monday-Friday 2:00pm - 11:00pm | On Call: YesJOB SUMMARY:
Provides leadership and support to overall unit, educates hospital staff, and assists in the development of policies and procedures. Respsonsible for the quality and timeliness of testing results by verseeing the phlebotomy team, scheduling, payroll, competency and training, and safety program in accordance with regulatory standards.EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or medical laboratory science.
Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science with a minimum of 60 semester hours specifically including, 6 hours of Chemistry, 6 hours of Biology and 12 additional hours in any combination
of Chemistry, Biology, or medical Laboratory Technology. Transcript with degree indicated must be provided and evaluated by laboratory leadership prior to offer.
a "Diploma" in Medical Technology, obtained prior to April 24, 1995, may be considered. Transcript with degree indicated must be provided and evaluated by laboratory leadership prior to offer.EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 4 years of laboratory training and experience in a high complexity laboratory in
designated specialty or subspecialty. One to two years supervisory experience.
Two to four years supervisory or leadership experience preferredLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Certification by a nationally recognized agency
- ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) certification - Medical Technologist or Medical
- NCA (National Certification Agency) certification - Clinical Laboratory Scientist,
- AMT (American Medical Technologist) certification - Medical Technologist,
- HEW (Health, Education, and Welfare) certification - Medical Technologist.
