Responsible for the oversight and operation of laboratory services. Accountable to lead, plan, implement, and direct programs and processes that assure high quality and cost effective services to meet the expectations of patients and referring physicians. Accountable for collaboration of laboratory services with other health system departments.EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science. Bachelor's degree diploma must be provided.
Bachelor's degree in another field with a minimum of 60 semester hours specifically including, 6 hours of chemistry, 6 hours of biology and 12 additional hours in any combination of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology. Transcript with degree indicated must be provided and evaluated prior to offer.
Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field.EXPERIENCE:
Required - Five years of experience in a high complexity laboratory. Two years of experience in a leadership (management) position.
Preferred - Six or more years of experience in a high complexity laboratory and leadership (management) position.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) certification or equivalent certification by:
NCA (National Certification Agency),
AMT (American Medical Technologist), or
HEW (Health, Education, & Welfare)
