Exempt: Yes | FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week) | Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st shift, 8 hour days | On Call: No
JOB SUMMARY:
Applies educational theories, principles, and innovative strategies to advance clinical practice and job performance in an effective and efficient manner. Plans and implements educational programs based on quality improvement outcomes and joint planning. Coordinates education resources and serves as a leader for assigned departments/programs. This position serves the following patient age categories: neonatal, pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Provides counseling, coaching and guidance for employees and makes referrals as needed. Serves as a role model in customer service skills.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an RN Educational Program; BSN Required, Master's degree required, preferred in Nursing; a Master's Degree in Education, or a Master's Degree in a health related field with certification in a nursing specialty will be considered in lieu of a Masters in Nursing.
Certificate in Nursing Professional Development preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum five years RN clinical practice required.
Minimum five years in nursing specialty in acute care preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
RN | Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state.
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Certification required in a clinical specialty as defined by National Certification requirements within two (2) years of hire into Nursing Profesional Development Specialist II position.
Preferred:
ACLS | Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
PALS | Pediatric Advanced Life Support
