The Associate Director of Clinical Research is a full-time management position within Cone Health responsible for oversight of the Office of Research Compliance and Development (ORCD), supporting all research conducted by Cone Health employees and/or affiliates, and providing regulatory required leadership and coordination of Institutional Review Board (IRB) activities. The Associate Director contributes to the promotion and expansion of the research mission of Cone Health by increasing and supporting scholarly activities of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, residents, and staff and developing strategic partnerships with other institutions of health care, higher education, government, and industry, while promoting shared responsibility, compliance, and research integrity. The
Associate Director will play a key role in the System's leadership team, promoting coordinated strategic development across all areas of activity. The Associate Director also oversees the processes to design, plan and implement the operations, coordination, and management of clinical research trials at Cone Health.
Supervises ORCD and IRB staff including: IRB Audit Coordinator, Clinical Trials Management System Support Analyst, Grants and Contracts Administrator, Research Billing Compliance AnalystEDUCATION:
Graduate degree required
Advanced degree concentration in clinical research, scientific, or related technical field preferred.EXPERIENCE:
Three years of related research and/or program administration experience
Demonstrated successful leadership experience preferredLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Maintain Human Subjects Research certification without lapse.
Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC) and/or Certified IRB Professional (CIP) certification preferred.
