• Promotes a safe environment for patients that are deemed at risk for suicide or require supervision for safety reasons. This position serves all Cone Health campuses needing a sitter(s) and serves the following age categories: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. In the event that there are no sitter needs, full nursing technician duties will be assigned according to patient care needs.
• Provides basic patient care according to the skills and competency guidelines set by the N.C. Division of Facility Services and the North Carolina Board of Nursing, Nurse Aide Central Registry. Provides patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Delivers excellent customer service utilizing Relationship Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients/families and colleagues, including all internal and external customers.
• Requires employee to support patient care needs at every hospital and emergency department campus. Employee must have transportation to travel to, from, and between these work locations.EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program also required. Must complete Sitter/Suicide Precaution Training/CBL/HLC.EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of six months of current work experience and documented competencies in area of application.
Preferred: 3+ years' experience working with at-risk patientsLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:

BLS (CPR) | AHA Health Care Provider BLS
Currently listed in good standing as Nurse Aide I with the North Carolina Division of Facilities Services.
