Under the leadership of thePre-Service Center Management, the Pre-Service Specialist is responsible forcompleting pre-registration and financial clearance functions prior to thepatient's arrival for service. The Pre-Service Specialist is responsible forcollecting and validating accurate patient demographic and insuranceinformation, obtaining pre-certification/authorization as required, andentering all necessary information into Cone HealthLink (EPIC). The Pre-ServiceSpecialist is also responsible for informing the patient of his/her approximateliability, collecting patient liabilities, identifying patients in need offinancial assistance and referring patients to financial counseling asnecessary.
This position requiresmulti-tasking and effective problem solving skills. It is expected that thePre-Service Specialist will foster positive relationships with all patients inan effort to provide quality service.
The Pre-Service Specialist willremain in full compliance with all departmental, institutional and regulatorypolicies and procedures. The roles and responsibilities of this job support themission, vision, values and strategies of Cone Health.EDUCATION:
High School Diploma orequivalent, Required
Associates, College LevelEducation PreferredEXPERIENCE:
1 to 2 years of experiencerequired in Patient Access. Prior experience preferred in Customer Service andPre-Service (Pre-Registration and Financial Clearance).
