Cone Health - Pediatric Critical Care Division at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC is seeking a relief BC/BE Pediatric Critical Care Physician
Responsibilities include clinical coverage of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), rotation through the pediatric procedural sedation service, participation in program development, and teaching and supervision of residents, with an emphasis on bed-side teaching. The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) Service includes:
• 3 full-time Pediatric Intensivists and regularly scheduled moonlighting Intensivists.
• Night and weekend home call averages 1:5 week-nights and 1:5 weekends. Night coverage is provided by the intensivists with the assistance of second and third year pediatric and med-peds residents from the University of North Carolina (UNC) pediatric residency program.
• The Pediatric Teaching Program, affiliated with UNC, is based in Greensboro where residents manage patients in the ED, PICU and Ward.
The PICU is a 4-bed unit that can be flexed to 6 beds, serving the critical care needs of medical, surgical, and trauma pediatric patients. Our well-developed family-centered model of care has been in place for nearly 14 years and places strong emphasis on clinical services, quality care and program growth.
As Cone Health's flagship, The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital is a Level 2 trauma center and is a 518-bed teaching hospital and referral center. It is the largest and most comprehensive medical center within our 5-county region, with a close affiliation with the UNC School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. Subspecialties include asthma/allergy, genetics, neonatology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric critical care, pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric neurology, pediatric psychology and pediatric surgery.
Minimum qualifications: Board certification in Pediatrics, and either BC/BE in pediatric critical care medicine (must be BC within 5 years of completing training); active (provisional) privileges with Cone Health Medical Staff, maintaining NC Board of Medicine medical licensure, unrestricted DEA. Members of the Division receive clinical appointments through UNC. Collaboration with one of the three nearby academic medical center is encouraged.
