FTE: 0.4 (16 hours per week)
Schedule: Two 8-hour days, Tuesday and Thursday (8am-5pm).
On Call: NOJOB SUMMARY:
Provide mostly acute and episodic care for the employees of Friends Homes.
The NP/PA is responsible for providing direct care to clients for the purpose of health promotion and disease management; case management to facilitate positive outcomes for employees/clients impacted by illness; program development and management related to the health needs of the organization; health expertise in collaboration with other members of the health and safety infrastructure to provide consultation as needed by members of the organization; communication and training to effectively educate clients about disease risk and their role in reducing risk of illness; appropriate administrative functions; and employee education, medical surveillance programs, and wellness programs.EDUCATION:
Required: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) has completed a nurse practitioner program, is certified by a national credentialing body, and utilizes a full range of clinical skills in accordance with rules and regulations of the Expanded Nursing Practice Act and under the auspices of the Board of Nursing.
The Physician Assistant (PA) has completed an educational program for physician assistants, has completed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination, and utilizes a full range of clinical skills in accordance with rules and regulations of the North Carolina Medical Board and the supervising physician.EXPERIENCE:
Required: At least one year experience in an Occupational Health, ER, Wellness, or Primary Care setting; preference for a minimum of one year occupational health experience. Demonstrated experience in the clinical management of clients in the ambulatory care setting.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
BLS (CPR) | AHA Health Care Provider BLS
Current PA or NP licensure in the State of NC
Valid Driver's License | Valid Driver's LicenseESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Provides appropriate patient assessment and establishes evidence-based plan of care with physician input when deemed to be appropriate.
Provides patient education, discusses ongoing care, medications, resources for self-education, and when and how to contact the practice for emergent care.
Responds quickly and professionally to emergent care demands, family concerns and nursing questions.
Reviews, interprets and integrates patient data.
