Exempt: Yes | FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week) | Schedule: M - F 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. | On Call: NOJOB SUMMARY:
To provide safe and effective evidence-based patient care. This position will primarily work in the hospital supporting the general surgeons with daily rounding and caring for patients on the surgical service. The PA will also be the primary contact during working hours for consults coming from the emergency department and other ares of the hospital.
The position may see patients in clinic, but the primary focus will be Inpatient-focused. EDUCATION:
Masters degree in Physician Assisting required.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
BLS (CPR) | AHA Health Care Provider BLS
Current PA license in the State of NC
DEA LicenseESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Communicates professionally, compassionately and effectively with patients, co-workers and referring physicians.
Provides appropriate patient assessment and establishes evidence-based plan of care with physician input when deemed to be appropriate.
Provides patient education, discusses ongoing care, medications, resources for self-education, and when and how to contact the practice for emergent care.
Responds quickly and professionally to emergent care demands, family concerns and nursing questions.
Reviews, interprets and integrates patient data.
Uses all electronic and computerized resources to provide timely and accurate patient care. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
