JOB DETAILS:
Exempt: No | FTE: 0.9 (36 hours/week) | Schedule: 7 am to 7 pm, every Sat & Sun, plus extra shift per week | On Call: NO

JOB SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will utilize the nursing process to independently deliver nursing care to patients in order to achieve quality outcomes and communicates need for guidance/supervision based on self-assessment of strengths and limitations. The RN assesses, plans, implements, documents, organizes, prioritize, delegates, supervises, and coordinates the care of patients as prescribed within the parameters of the NC Nurse Practice Act and hospital complex. System Wide Float RNs are required to float to all Healthcare System Acute Care Facilities and scheduled in departments in which they have competencies. They can also be placed in a department other than their competency level with a modified assignment. Assignments to a specific department can be in the form of a contract (from 1-12 weeks duration) or on a shift by shift basis. The assigned work location will be based on patient care need and clinical competency. The goal of this position is to maximize the utilization of staff resources in order to promote optimal patient care. The job requires the employee to support patient care needs at every hospital campus. Employee must have transportation to travel to, from, and between these work locations.


EDUCATION:
Required:Graduation from a BSN, ADN or Nursing Diploma program, consideration may begiven to RN's holding a certificate from approved foreign nursing programs.Allregistered nurses without a BSN or higher will be required to enroll in a BSNprogram within one year of their hire date with completion of the programoccurring within four years of hire.
EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS Required:
New RNGraduates: Acceptance into Cone Health New Graduate program or completion of anacute care new graduate program.
Preferred:Experienced RN : One year of Acute Care RN experience is preferred. Hiringleader may consider other RN experience at their discretion.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED
RN | Registered Nurselicensed in North Carolina or a Compact state.
BLS (CPR) | AHA Health CareProvider BLS

PREFERRED
The followingcertifications are preferred and may be required within a certain time frame ofhire as defined by the specific nursing unit.
Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced LifeSupport (PALS)
Neonatal ResuscitationProgram (NRP)
Critical Care RegisteredNurse (CCRN)

Safe Training andResponsible Restraints (STARR)
