LOCATION: Wesley Long Hospital, Greensboro

JOB DETAILS:
Exempt: No
FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week)
Schedule: M-F
On Call: No
$8,000 Sign-on Bonus offered.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervision and patient care management for the Wesley Long Ortho OR team. Identifies and accomplishes program goals and outcomes. Maintainsregulatory and
professional standards/requirements. Supports and maintains a cost effective,progressive and
customer-focused service. This role will provide leadership in the areas oftraining, clinical oversight,
completion of competencies and acts as a resource to management in dailyoperations.

EDUCATION:
Bachelors Nursing Required

Additional Information
Master's Degree, preferred in Nursing. Master's Degree in a health relatedfield with certification in a
nursing specialty will be considered in lieu of a Masters in Nursing.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in specialty area required. Three(3) years as RN preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING-REQUIRED:
RN Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state.

BLS (CPR) AHA Health Care Provider BLS

Certification in a clinical specialty as defined by National Certificationrequirements is required within
two (2) years of hire into RN Specialty Coordinator position.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

Pediatric Advanced Life Support

Advanced Trauma Life Support ( ATLS) preferred.

MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES:
Uses the nursing process to provide patient care. Demonstrates knowledge and
awareness of unit practice, issues, trends, and technology/instrumentation.Provides
daily coordination of procedures ensuring that all resources are available fortheir
specialty. Demonstrates proficiency in all areas of staffing roles. Providetechnical
support for their specialty. Assists others and provides feedback to staff onsetting
priorities for action and anticipating patient care needs. Provides directpatient care
through application of the nursing process. Applies nursing process to the
development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Consistentlycollects
and analyzes patient/significant other data. Records initial database, ongoing
assessment, and evaluation of patient responses. Develops, revises, anddocuments
plan of care including discharge planning in collaboration with the patient,significant
others, and health care providers. Demonstrates competence in administering and
monitoring therapeutic interventions for the most complex patients and issought by
others for this ability. Assists in the identification and resolution ofQuality
improvement issues specifically related to patient care. Implementsinterventions in a
manner to maintain patient dignity, privacy, and safety. 30 %

Provides leadership for the department in meeting organizational goals and

Demonstrates accountability and knowledge for departmental/organizational
objectives. Promotes departmental philosophy and fosters a positive, caring and

outcomes. Recommends options to enhance program/clinical outcomes. Coordinates
departmental orientation, continuing education and clinical development.
Monitors/reports compliance with departmental policies and procedures.Evaluates
team performance and provides appropriate feedback. Ability to act in aleadership
role and manage emergency situations. 25%

Assists in implementing performance improvement activities. Assists inimplementing
performance improvement activities. Operationalizes the QI/PI program for
department. Facilitates staff PI/QI education and participation. Consistently
communicates customer satisfaction results and recommends options and
implements plans to enhance customer satisfaction. Researches and providesfollow
up regarding departmental incidents. Incorporates changes into practice andcoaches
and mentors others to do so. Recognizes opportunities for QI process,participates in
the designs and implementation of the design of these processes. 20 %

Assists in the selection and management of specialty area. Assist in theselection and
management of resources for a defined work group. Participates in the selectionand
supervision of personnel. Assists with the completion of performanceappraisals.
Generates and/or participates in development of the departmental schedule and
manages daily staffing operations. Assist with the preparation and execution ofstaff
assignments and patient throughput. Investigates select budgetary variances and
approves and documents staffing variances. Provides input for annual budget
process. Monitors and maintains departmental cost-containment activities.Identifies
and implements strategies to reduce operational cost. 15 %

Demonstrates effective conflict resolution/negotiation skills. Promotespositive,
supportive, and professional work environment free of disruptive behavior.Practices,
in all professional relationships, with compassion and respect for the inherentdignity,
worth and uniqueness of every individual. Follows Chain of Command forassistance
with issues related to unresolved/problem-solving and/or conflict resolution.Provides,
