\nJOB SUMMARY<\/b>:
\nResponsible for supervision and patient care management for the Wesley Long Ortho OR team. Identifies and accomplishes program goals and outcomes. Maintains\nregulatory and
\nprofessional standards/requirements. Supports and maintains a cost effective,\nprogressive and
\ncustomer-focused service. This role will provide leadership in the areas of\ntraining, clinical oversight,
\ncompletion of competencies and acts as a resource to management in daily\noperations.

\nEDUCATION<\/b>:
\nBachelors Nursing Required
\n
\nAdditional Information
\nMaster\u2019s Degree, preferred in Nursing. Master\u2019s Degree in a health related\nfield with certification in a
\nnursing specialty will be considered in lieu of a Masters in Nursing.
\n
\n
\nEXPERIENCE<\/b>:
\nMinimum of two (2) years clinical experience in specialty area required. Three\n(3) years as RN preferred.
\n
\n
\nLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING-REQUIRED<\/b>:
\nRN Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state.
\n
\nBLS (CPR) <\/span>AHA Health Care Provider BLS
\n
\nCertification in a clinical specialty as defined by National Certification\nrequirements is required within
\ntwo (2) years of hire into RN Specialty Coordinator position.
\n
\n
\nLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING-PREFERRED<\/b>:
\nAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support
\n
\nPediatric Advanced Life Support
\n
\nAdvanced Trauma Life Support ( ATLS) preferred.
\n
\n
\nMAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES<\/b>:
\nUses the nursing process to provide patient care. Demonstrates knowledge and
\nawareness of unit practice, issues, trends, and technology/instrumentation.\nProvides
\ndaily coordination of procedures ensuring that all resources are available for\ntheir
\nspecialty. Demonstrates proficiency in all areas of staffing roles. Provide\ntechnical
\nsupport for their specialty. Assists others and provides feedback to staff on\nsetting
\npriorities for action and anticipating patient care needs. Provides direct\npatient care
\nthrough application of the nursing process. Applies nursing process to the
\ndevelopment, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Consistently\ncollects
\nand analyzes patient/significant other data. Records initial database, ongoing
\nassessment, and evaluation of patient responses. Develops, revises, and\ndocuments
\nplan of care including discharge planning in collaboration with the patient,\nsignificant
\nothers, and health care providers. Demonstrates competence in administering and
\nmonitoring therapeutic interventions for the most complex patients and is\nsought by
\nothers for this ability. Assists in the identification and resolution of\nQuality
\nimprovement issues specifically related to patient care. Implements\ninterventions in a
\nmanner to maintain patient dignity, privacy, and safety. <\/span>30 %

\nProvides leadership for the department in meeting organizational goals and

\ndepartment. Facilitates staff PI/QI education and participation. Consistently

\nimplements plans to enhance customer satisfaction. Researches and provides\nfollow
\nup regarding departmental incidents. Incorporates changes into practice and\ncoaches
\nand mentors others to do so. Recognizes opportunities for QI process,\nparticipates in
\nthe designs and implementation of the design of these processes. <\/span>20 %

\nAssists in the selection and management of specialty area. Assist in the\nselection and
\nmanagement of resources for a defined work group. Participates in the selection\nand
\nsupervision of personnel. Assists with the completion of performance\nappraisals.
\nGenerates and/or participates in development of the departmental schedule and
\nmanages daily staffing operations. Assist with the preparation and execution of\nstaff
\nassignments and patient throughput. Investigates select budgetary variances and
\napproves and documents staffing variances. Provides input for annual budget
\nprocess. Monitors and maintains departmental cost-containment activities.\nIdentifies
\nand implements strategies to reduce operational cost. <\/span>15 %
