Job Description
LOCATION: Wesley Long Hospital, WL-Sterile Processing
CITY: Greensboro, NC
JOB DETAILS:
Exempt: Yes | FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week) | Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and department needs | On Call: NO
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Sterile Processing Department. Plans and organizes all services and personnel in the sterile processing department, including coordination of processes and activities involved in the acquisition, decontamination, storage, assembly, cleaning, and sterilization of medical, surgical and related supplies and materials and equipment utilized in the care and treatment of patients within the operation of the Sterile Processing Departments for the Moses H. Cone Hospital, Wesley Long Hospital, and Women's Hospital.
EDUCATION:
Required: Associate degree with significant directly related experience required.
Preferred: Baccalaureate degree in healthcare related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five years of experience in sterile processing, operating rooms, or similar setting. Demonstrated knowledge of decontamination and sterilization sciences, case cart systems, and medical/surgical supplies and equipment.
Preferred: Two years of experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity within a high volume tertiary level hospital preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED
Drivers License | Valid Drivers License
Current certification as Sterile Processing Tech, Certified Surgical Tech, or Certified Nurse Operating Room required.
Preferred: CSPDT; CRCST
