Under minimal supervision, assists the department in assuring the safe, proper and efficient maintenance and repair of building and equipment systems with proficient knowledge in two crafts. Maintains and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains. Installs, repairs, or replaces domestic hot and cold-water lines. Performs preventative maintenance inspections and repairs in hospital including, but not limited to, domestic water systems and related devices and sanitary waste drainage. Leads troubleshooting efforts and repairs steam, water, and gas distribution systems. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Responds to emergency plumbing calls such as clogged drains, broken water lines, frozen pipes, gas odors and possible gas leaks. Evaluate situation and take proper corrective action. Installs new plumbing fixtures including, but not limited to, sinks, commodes, urinals, faucets, drinking fountains, garbage disposals, domestic water heaters and related devices.EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Trade school graduate with emphasis in two or more of the maintenance craftsEXPERIENCE:
Required - Minimum of 10 years of experience in a trade
Preferred - 5 years hospital experienceLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Drivers License | Valid Drivers License
Required - Must possess a state license in one of the following maintenance crafts: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration. Must have proficient knowledge in a second trade.
Preferred - A second state license in an additional trade.
