Exempt: No | FTE: 1.000000 (40 hours/week) | Schedule: Mon - Friday 8AM - 5PM | On Call: NOJOB SUMMARY: The Hyperbaric Technician is responsible for providing hyperbaric treatments under the direction of a physician. The Hyperbaric Technician will be responsible for providing care, obtaining vital signs, participating in performing ordered wound care, patient transport, equipment cleaning/disinfection and hyperbaric chamber operations, collects data from patients, family, physician and clinical record along with records and reports pertinent data to RN and/or physician assess, interpret data and discriminate between normal and abnormal findings as it relates to the operation of hyperbaric chambers and other equipment utilized in the department. Hyperbaric Technician will recognize and prevent environment hazards to the patient and unit, utilizes equipment and material in a cost-effective manner and locate and utilize emergency equipment. Hyperbaric Technician shall complete unit duty obligations as assigned and recognize and respond immediately to emergency situations. Hyperbaric Technician will also be responsible for answering phones and computer data input. Hyperbaric Technician shall also meet clinical competencies as indicated on the skills validation list and comply with attendance standards. The Hyperbaric Technician must also complete documentation on appropriate forms. Obtains TCPO2 (transcutaneous partial pressure of oxygen) measurements.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Successfully completed the Healogics' Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) course or equivalent within 90 days of hire.
Successfully complete the introduction - Hyperbaric Training Course as approved by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology within 1 year of hire.
Familiarity with patient care equipment
Familiarity with HBO chambers
Drivers License | Valid Drivers License
BLS (CPR) | AHA Health Care Provider BLS
Licensure, certification or registry as an EMT, CMA, PT, PTA, CNA, LPN, Respiratory Therapist, Military Corpsman or Military Medical Services Specialist.Preferred:
