Exempt: No | FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week) | Schedule: Monday through Friday | On Call: NOJOB SUMMARY: This position is accountable to perform completely, accurately and efficiently varied and related duties involved with patient billing, insurance and managed care contracts, i.e. referrals, authorizations, etc., as well as administrative support, clerical, and patient support tasks. This position is also accountable for establishing acceptable financial arrangements on assigned patient accounts by way of securing sponsorship from various federal, state, and county agencies, in order to meet the patient's financial obligation to Cone Health and ensure reimbursement accountability. The position is responsible for obtaining authorizations and pre-certifications for patient visits, procedures, testing, and treatments. The position is responsible to collect, input/enter/post, audit, correct departmental patient charges and to review patient medical records as well as respond to denials for the Radiation Oncology department and ensure timely, complete, and accurate patient billing for the Radiation Oncology department. This position is accountable for the provision of Radiation Oncology clerical and administrative support functions including processing statistics, scheduling, patient record maintenance/compliance, etc. This position serves as a resource to others related to the clerical functions, administrative support functions, patient support functions, and patient billing functions of the Radiation Oncology department.
EDUCATION: Required -High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred - Associates or Bachelors
EXPERIENCE: Required -Previous clinical experience in a hospital, clinic, or medical business office. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Drivers License | Valid Drivers License
Radiation Oncology Certified Coder certification and/or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) and/or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) and/or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist).
