Pursue a career in perioperative nursing with guidance and instruction from Cone Health's Summer 2019 Operating Room (OR) Residency, starting August 5. This program is designed for new and experienced RNs with no previous experience in the OR. This is an opportunity to train with the Operating Room Department, located at Annie Penn Hospital.
Receive comprehensive training in this 4 month program to begin your new role as a perioperative or operating room nurse. Through classes, mentoring, and clinical rotations you'll learn how to skillfully assess patients, coordinate surgery, assist in the operating room and serve as a patient advocate. Build a foundation for OR nursing by attending lectures and practicing your clinical care through skills lab activities.JOB SUMMARY:
Assesses, plans, implements, documents, organizes, prioritize, delegates, supervises and coordinates the care of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric patients as prescribed within the parameters of the NC Nurse Practice Act and hospital complex.
EDUCATION:Required: Graduation from a BSN, ADN or Nursing Diploma program, considerationmay be given to RN's holding a certificate from approved foreign nursingprograms.All registered nurses without a BSN or higher will be required toenroll in a BSN program within one year of their hire date with completion ofthe program occurring within four years of hire.
EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS Required: New RN Graduates: Acceptance into Cone Health NewGraduate program or completion of an acute care new graduate program.
Preferred:Experienced RN : One year of Acute Care RN experience is preferred. Hiringleader may consider other RN experience at their discretion.
RN | Registered Nurselicensed in North Carolina or a Compact state.
BLS (CPR) | AHA Health CareProvider BLS
The followingcertifications are preferred and may be required within a certain time frame ofhire as defined by the specific nursing unit.
