The Executive Director of Laboratory Services is responsible for strategic planning, direction and oversight of the laboratory and pathology services. The Executive Director partners with key physicians, operational leaders, laboratory directors, and the medical directors of laboratories, to plan, develop, implement and maintain laboratory services that assist in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease by providing high quality, timely, efficient laboratory services in a collaborative manner.
The Executive Director of Laboratory Services reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and works in a complex matrix structure with the laboratory medical directors. The laboratory directors, laboratory IT manager and laboratory quality manger report directly to the Executive Director. Additionally, the Executive Director works closely with Cone Health leaders to coordinate care and services specific to service needs. EDUCATION
Bachelor degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science.
Appropriate advanced degree.
Master's degree in business or healthcare administration EXPERIENCE
6-8 years management experience in a high complexity laboratory
10 years management experience in a high complexity laboratory LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING-REQUIRED
Valid Drivers License Additional information on required licensure/certification/registry/listings:
ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) certification or equivalent certification by:
NCA (National Certification Agency),
AMT (American Medical Technologist), or
HEW (Health, Education & Welfare)
