JOB SUMMARY :
The dietitianhas responsibility for providing individualized medical nutrition therapyfor patients/residentswithin Cone Health. The position requires application of professional knowledgeof clinical nutrition and serves patients in the age categories ofneonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
Bachelor'sDegree in Nutrition or related field required.
Master's degreein Nutrition or related field preferred.
0-1 years inclinical nutrition following pre-professional experience required.
>1 year inclinical nutrition following pre-professional experience preferred.
Certificationas a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) as issued by the Commission onDietetic
RegistrationAND Licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist as issued by the NCBDN OR completionof a Commission onAccreditation of Dietetics Education accredited Supervised Practice Programas evidenced by an original Verification Statement supplied by the ProgramDirector in a color ink other than black and dated within the previous 12months. The incumbent must become registered and licensed within 6 monthsof employment.
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES :
Completenutritional assessments of patients and documents results using the Nutrition Care Process and the NutritionFocused Physical Exam. Calculate patients nutritional needs based onaccepted Standards of Care. Make daily decisions independently but obtaininput from RDII, RDIII, Lead Registered Dietitian or Clinical NutritionManager for complicated cases or issues 20 %
Plan anddocument Medical Nutrition Therapy for patients in conjunction with the multidisciplinary plan of care 20 %
Initiatenutrition interventions. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness ofnutrition interventions.Document the achievement of measurable nutrition goals. 20 %
Serve as anutrition resource to departmental and organizational staff and train dietetic interns and nutrition students 20 %
Participate inquality improvement activities within the clinical nutrition team, the nutritional services department and otherareas of the health system 10 %
Participate incontinuing education activities that enhance the delivery of medical nutrition therapy, pro-actively seek thelatest information regarding nutrition therapy, routinely assessknowledge, skills, and abilities for self-development and goal setting 10%
