\nJOB SUMMARY<\/b>:<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/span><\/p>

The cook is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served for the café, <\/span><\/font>tray line and dining room. All tasks are to be completed following the chefs exact specifications. <\/span>Compliance with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following <\/span>established food production programs and procedures is a must. The cook is responsible for appropriate <\/span><\/font>use of facility supplies and equipment.<\/span><\/p>

\nMAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES<\/b>:<\/span><\/font>

Accurately calculates needed quantities of recipe ingredients to ensure that <\/font>production is correct and meets basic needs as well as attractive arrangement of food <\/span>on plates to look appetizing and compliant with portion sizes. <\/span>10 %<\/span><\/p>

Follows established procedures for the storage of food, supplies and equipment. <\/span>Minimize food waste and maintain sanitary food preparation. 10 %<\/span><\/p>

Follows standard recipes and utilize specified preparation techniques so as to comply <\/font>with diet requirements and when needed, provide compliant food substitutions where <\/span>applicable. <\/span>30 %<\/span>
<\/p>

Maintains an awareness of the chain of command and the supervisor or manager on <\/font>duty and complies with their supervision and lead. 10 %<\/span><\/p>

Operates, utilized and maintains equipment in accordance with the department or <\/font>manufacturers specifications so that no damage or excessive wear and tear occurs <\/span>due to a failure to comply. <\/span>10 %<\/span>
<\/p>

Organizes time and priorities so that assigned activities are complete within <\/font>designated time frames in relation to a healthcare setting. 10 %<\/span>
<\/p>

Participates in performance improvement program to enhance the quality of service. 10 %<\/span>

Sets up or breaks down food service areas as required. 10 %<\/span>
